Community Relations

The Community Relations Department serves as a liaison between the community and county government. We strive to make our government as transparent as possible

Tools
The tools we use to communicate are word of mouth, newspaper, radio, television and the internet. We publish a weekly ad in the Monday edition of the Aspen Daily News that highlights our meeting agendas and other information relevant to the public. We keep the local media informed with regular press releases, public service announcements, press conferences and interviews.

CGTV Channel 11 - Community Government Television - is the place to go to watch government meetings of Aspen City Council, Pitkin County Board of Commissioners and Snowmass Village Town Council. If you can't catch a meeting on CGTV you can always watch it online. Access the "Watch Live" and "Recorded County Webcasts" features. You can even watch the "special" video programs we produce online by selecting Special Video Programs.

Additional Programs
We also produce programs that are designed to give you more insight into the inner workings of local government. Watch programs about the airport, our lively Senior Center, TV and FM Translator Department and more. You can also view profiles of county employees so that you can put a face to a name and learn a little about the people who serve you in county government.

Emergent Issues

We sometimes use CGTV to bring you more emergent issues like experts talking about a burning wildfire, flooding or the status of the flu pandemic locally and worldwide.
