Open Space, Forest Service host open house

Pitkin County Open Space and Trails and the U.S. Forest Service will host an open house / grand opening at their new shared quarters at 806 W. Hallam St. in Aspen on Thursday afternoon.

The Forest Service Visitor Information Center and Open Space and Trails offices are open Monday through Friday from 8 to 4:30 a.m. The public is welcome to come tour the offices, meet staff members representing both agencies and enjoy refreshments from 4 to 6 p.m.

The Forest Service will staff the Visitor Information Center through September. Open Space and Trails will occupy the building for an estimated 18 to 24 months while the county’s Plaza One office building in downtown Aspen is closed for a reconstruction/expansion project starting later this summer.
