New non-stop flights from Chicago and expanded service from Dallas Fort Worth have been added to the Aspen Snowmass winter flight schedule this winter. The Aspen/Pitkin County Airport today announced that American Airlines will offer new daily non-stop flights from Chicago/O’Hare along with a third daily non-stop from Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) for the holidays. Also, a re-timed morning inbound trip from DFW will allow connections from South America throughout the winter. All these new flights are now open for sale at www.aa.com.
"These new flights offered by American Airlines will open new connections for locals and visitors that may have been challenging in the past," said Aspen/Pitkin County Airport Director, John Kinney.
American’s winter seasonal service from DFW, LAX and now Chicago begins December 17, 2015 and will now feature a total of six flights daily through January 4, and five daily flights for the balance of the winter through April 4, 2016. All flights into Aspen Snowmass will be operated by Envoy Air as American Eagle with CRJ700 aircraft, featuring a total of 65 seats including nine seats in First Class.

“By connecting their Chicago hub with just one strategically-timed daily flight and by re-timing one of their DFW trips, American has been able to expand their reach into the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport and will now be able to offer expanded domestic and global connections from virtually all directions," said Bill Tomcich, President of Stay Aspen Snowmass.”
Aspen/Pitkin County Airport is located only three miles from Aspen and seven miles from Snowmass Village, the closest airport to any ski resort in North America.
