Meet The Assessor

Deb Bamesberger was elected Pitkin County Assessor in November 2018 and began her term in January 2019. She was re-elected in November 2022 and will serve another 4 years as the Assessor. She has worked in the Assessor's office since 2012 as both a Property Transfer Technician and a Personal Property Analyst. Deb completed the necessary classes and passed the Colorado appraisal license test and now has an active Ad Valorem Appraisal license.

In addition to playing a role with her fellow Assessors across the state in Colorado assessment legislation, Deb is also active in the following organizations:

  • Colorado Assessor's Association (CAA) member
  • International Associate of Assessing Officers (IAAO) member
  • Colorado Assessor's Association's Ski and Recreation Committee member
  • Colorado Assessor's Association's Short Term Rental Legislative Committee member

Personal Information:
Prior to working for Pitkin County, Deb held her Managing Broker real estate license from 1992-2016, she also worked as an Escrow Officer doing closings for Pitkin County Title from 1997-2002. She was hired in 1979 as the first woman lineman in the State of Colorado for Mountain Bell, working at that profession for the next 10 years. Deb has been a member of the BPOE #224 for 24 years and volunteers regularly.

Deb grew up in Pueblo, CO and moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in 1979 where she raised her 3 children. She loves being outdoors hiking, biking, gardening and being in the sunshine.
