Gilbert earned an Associate of Arts in Business from Colorado Mountain College and continues his education currently as a full-time student working toward a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a certification in Social Work Management. He is passionate about living a life of service and helping people. Gilbert previously worked at Colorado Mountain College as an Administrative assistant 1 while attending college and before that worked for the USPS for 20 years. He was a Rural carrier and served as the local shop steward and the QWLEI Coordinator for the south Texas region. Gilbert is a father, a grandfather, and a US Navy Veteran. He is excited to be a part of the Pitkin County Public Health Department and looking forward to new adventures. On Gilbert's off time he enjoys riding his motorcycle and golfing. He also enjoys just about all that Colorado has to offer in the great outdoors; Fishing, hiking, etc., and learning to ski is on his bucket list.
