PITKIN COUNTY, CO (May 30, 2025) Pitkin County is now accepting nominations for outstanding volunteers to be honored for the 2025 Pitkin County Cares Volunteer Service Awards. Citizens are invited to submit nominations for people who are making a difference in the community.
“This recognition program that includes the Greg Mace Award, has grown over the years into a highly anticipated event for the community,” said Pat Bingham, who currently coordinates the event and helped launch the program. “It is a wonderful opportunity for us to meet and recognize our friends and neighbors who take the time to give back in significant ways.”
Now in its 25th year, the 2025 Pitkin County Cares/Greg Mace Awards were established to honor individuals and groups for their service, leadership, and civic involvement. Nominees do not need to be Pitkin County residents but the bulk of their public service must have taken place in Pitkin County.
Recipients will be invited to a community event at a date to be announced in mid-September, where the Pitkin County Commissioners will acknowledge their service in a televised public meeting and ceremony with the recipients and their friends and neighbors.
Nominations are being accepted in the following categories: Greg Mace: life-long volunteerism, Seniors, Health, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Education, Good Samaritan, Environment, Local Civics, and Rising Stars, which applies to volunteers age 18 and under.

CONDADO DE PITKIN, CO (30 de mayo, 2025) El Condado de Pitkin ya está aceptando nominaciones para voluntarios destacados que serán honrados en los Premios de Servicio Voluntariado de Pitkin County Cares 2025. Se invita a los ciudadanos a presentar nominaciones de personas que están marcando la diferencia en la comunidad.
“Este programa de reconocimiento, que incluye el Premio Greg Mace, ha crecido a lo largo de los años convirtiéndose en un evento muy esperado para la comunidad,” dijo Pat Bingham, quien actualmente coordina el evento y ayudó a lanzar en programa. “Es una maravillosa oportunidad para nosotros de dar a conocer y reconocer a nuestros amigos y vecinos que dedican tiempo a contribuir de manera significativa.”
En su 25º año, los Premios Pitkin County Cares/Greg Mace 2025 fueron establecidos para honrar a individuos y grupos por su servicio, liderazgo e involucramiento cívico. Los nominados no necesitan ser residentes del Condado de Pitkin, pero la mayor parte de su servicio público debe haberse realizado dentro del Condado de Pitkin.
Las personas galardonadas serán invitadas a un evento comunitario en una fecha que se anunciará a mediados de septiembre, donde los Comisionados del Condado de Pitkin reconocerán su servicio en una reunión pública televisada y ceremonia con los galardonados y sus amigos y vecinos.
Se aceptan nominaciones en las siguientes categorías: Greg Mace: voluntariado de toda la vida, Adultos Mayores, Salud, Diversidad, Equidad e Inclusión, Educación, Buen Samaritano, Medio Ambiente, Civismo Local y Estrellas en Ascenso, aplicable a voluntarios de 18 años o menos.
