Trail Closures & Openings
Every year, Pitkin County Open Space and Trails enacts seasonal closures to protect wildlife during migration and winter months, and to prevent resource damage during muddy or snow-covered conditions.
Closures typically begin in November and December and reopen in the spring. Please respect all posted signs and gates, including dog restrictions. These measures protect wildlife, sensitive habitats, and your favorite trails for years to come.
