How to manage noxious weeds and invasive plants is the topic of a presentation by Colorado's leading weed authority Dr. George Beck ph.D. Beck is a professor of Weed Science at Colorado State University. The free event is open to seasonal landscapers, herbicide applicators, gardeners, and any others who have an interest in local ecology.
Pitkin County Land Management and Open Space and Trails is hosting the event that includes information on the negative impact noxious weeds and invasive plants have on local ecosystems on Wednesday, May 30th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Eagle County Center, 20 Eagle County Drive, in El Jebel.

Dr. Beck will cover identification of some important invasive/noxious weeds including some newer species, and Integrated Weed Management. Attendees will gain knowledge on correctly identifying various weeds and implementing the best solutions for eradication and prevention.
