Pitkin County, CO (Oct. 17, 2024) — Pitkin County and Kids First have announced an increase in income limits for childcare financial assistance programs, providing crucial support for families across the region. Starting Nov. 1, 2024, the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) threshold for eligibility in the Pitkin County Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP) will rise from 265% to 300% of the FPL, allowing more families to receive aid.

The CCCAP program offers financial assistance to help cover the cost of child care for low- and moderate-income families, ensuring that children have access to high-quality early childhood education. “We are thrilled about the increase in the income threshold for childcare assistance.” Said Sam Landercasper, Assistant Director of Strategy and Operations for Pitkin County Human Services. “This change means more families in Pitkin County will have access to the support they need, allowing parents to work or pursue education while knowing their children are in nurturing environments. It’s a huge step forward in making childcare more accessible for this community.” This recent increase in the FPL threshold will allow more families to benefit from the program, easing the financial burden of childcare costs in Pitkin County. Kids First, a trusted partner of Pitkin County, provides additional childcare resources, advocacy, and support services to families and childcare providers in Aspen and surrounding areas.
