On Wednesday, Nov. 9 and Thursday, Nov. 10, the Town of Basalt will shift traffic on State Highway (SH) 82 and Basalt Avenue to the detour alignment to begin the next phase of work on the pedestrian underpass. The east bound lanes of SH 82 will shift on Wednesday and the west bound lanes will shift on Thursday. This configuration will be in effect until March 2017. Temporary RFTA bus stops will be in place east of Basalt Avenue along SH 82.
During this phase of construction, five lanes of traffic will be maintained throughout the project with temporary asphalt side pavement. Traffic control operations will not interfere with the flow of morning and afternoon peak traffic on SH 82. Traffic speeds will be reduced to 35 mph in the work zone. Please use caution and stay alert while traveling through the construction zone.
