The draft Environmental Assessment (Draft EA) for proposed improvements for the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport has been prepared and is now available for public review and comment until October 3, 2017. This project includes a new terminal and runway relocation 80 feet to the west, along with associated projects.
"The draft EA is the culmination of years of work and study," said Airport Director, John Kinney. "With the help of our Community Input Committee and a very engaged citizenry we have collected valuable public comment on the EA process to date. The public now has the opportunity to comment on this draft document before the Pitkin County Commissioners consider it on October 10th at a worksession, again on October 25th for First Reading, and finally on November 1st for a vote," Kinney said.
The public is invited to attend Information Meetings and Public Hearings: Monday, September 25, 2017 at the Pitkin County Library Dunaway Community Room at 120 North Mill Street in Aspen from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. or on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Town Hall in Snowmass Village, 130 Kearns Road from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The format will be open house and a public hearing officer will be available to receive verbal comments on the EA.
