The public will get a look at the BOCC-approved Ambulance Station design at a public open house on Tuesday, January 9th at 5:30 pm at the Pitkin County Health and Human Services offices located at 0405 Castle Creek Road in Aspen.
“We used the feedback we received from community members and neighbors of the facility to inform the building architects in the final design,” said County Manager, Jon Peacock. “We all had to make compromises to come up with a building design that was functional for the ambulance operation and considerate of neighbors.”
The new building will be constructed next to the Pitkin County Health and Human Services Building in a spot currently occupied by a 14-space employee parking lot. It will replace the more than 25-year-old Ambulance Barn now located adjacent to Aspen Valley Hospital.
Groundbreaking for the new facility is expected in spring 2018.
