Pitkin County Open Space and Trails will extend the comment period on the draft update to the North Star Management Plan and pause outreach meetings on the plan for an undetermined period.
“Online public comment for the plan will remain open. We will send out information about when meetings are rescheduled in the future,” said Lindsey Utter, planning and outreach manager for Open Space and Trails. An open house on the North Star plan that had been scheduled Saturday, March 14 at Local Coffee House in Aspen is canceled, as is an outreach event at the Coffee House that had been planned Tuesday, March 17.
The deadline for the public to make comments, which had been April 1, will be extended to a later date that has not been determined. The schedule of review and adoption of the management plan by the Open Space and Trails Board and Board of County Commissioners is also expected to be delayed.
“We are putting outreach events on a pause, but we encourage the community to log on to our projects website, review the proposals in the plan and offer their feedback,” Utter said.
The plan, an executive summary and a survey to provide input are available on the North Star page at www.pitkinOSTprojects.com.
