In the spirit of social distancing and In an effort to slow the potential spread of COVID-19 in our community, Pitkin County Government will close all public access to the Pitkin County Administration and Sheriff’s Office building at 530 East Main Street, Aspen, Colorado beginning at 8 am on Wednesday, March 18th through April 15th.
Other Pitkin County facilities that are closed to the public include the Senior Center and the Library. Home delivered meals for qualifying seniors over age 60 may be arranged by calling 970-920-5432. Some library services may be arranged by calling 970-429-1900.
Public Works services including road and bridge maintenance and snowplowing, etc. will continue as usual but Public Works staff offices will be closed to the public. Contact Public Works at 970-920-5390.
Landfill/Solid Waste Center operations will continue as usual but the Landfill business office will be closed to public access. Contact the Landfill/Solid Waste Center at 970-429-2880 or go to www.landfillrules.com for more information.
Most county staff will be working remotely and all meetings with staff will be conducted via email, telephone or video conferencing. Most County business can be conducted online or via telephone. Updated department and contact information is available www.pitkincounty.com. Calls will be taken regarding County business on the main administrative office telephone line - 970-920-5200.
The Pitkin County Board of Commissioners will continue meeting in a virtual setting that will be televised and streamed online as usual on CGTV Comcast Channel 11 and at www.pitkincounty.com/watchwebcasts. Members of the public may not attend BOCC meetings in-person until further notice. Agendas will be published at www.pitkincounty.com where a telephone number for public comment will be posted. BOCC agendas and other county information will continue to be published in the Aspen Daily News every Monday.

Administration
The County Manager’s office will be operating in a virtual setting. Call 970-920-5200 for information or to reach the County Manager.
Assessor
Although we will be closed to walk in customers, our office will remain open during regular hours 8 -5 Monday through Thursday and Friday 8 - 4. Our staff will be limited, but full service is available. We can be reached by phone at 970-920-5160 and by email at assessormail@pitkincounty.com

Attorney
The Pitkin County Attorney’s office will be closed to public access. Business will be conducted via email and telephone - 970-920-5190.
Board of County Commissioners
Bocc offices located in the Administration building will be closed.
Clerk
Pitkin County Motor Vehicle, Recording, and Elections Departments will continue to serve the public by processing online services and documents received through the mail or dropped in the Pitkin County drop box located at 530 E. Main Street, Aspen. For assistance with online services or to have your questions answered by phone:

Marriage Application and License: Marriage applications are available online at www.pitkincounty.com/clerkandrecorder. Issuance of a marriage licenses will be handled by appointment only. Community Development
Community Development employees are working remotely until further notice. Meetings will be conducted through various virtual meeting formats rather than in-person. Each department in Com Dev. is set up to accommodate the public in order to keep building or planning applications moving forward. Please use our online payment system for building permit payments.

GIS Mapping Services
GIS continues to offer all our services online to the public and staff. We are working remotely and can be reached via email at gis@pitkincounty.com to assist customers.
Open Space and Trails
All staff in the Pitkin County Administrative building will be working remotely until further notice. Open Space rangers will still be out on the trails and properties and our maintenance staff will continue patrolling and clearing trailheads.
Sheriff’s Office
Although the Sheriff’s Office located in the Administration building will be closed to walk in customers, feel free to pick up the red telephone located in the building vestibule to have us paged. You may call us with your non-emergency requests at 970-920-5300. If you have an emergency call 911.
The Sheriff’s Office remains ready to respond to the community’s needs related to our current efforts to reduce the spread of the corona virus, as well as to have our staff poised to address any other incidents that may occur during this time. We are, however, modifying our usual operations to increase safety to staff and those we serve relative to COVID-19.
You will see the deputies out and about as you normally would, but they will be trying to keep a physical distance of at least six feet while doing their jobs. Obviously, that will not always be the case, and when deputies need to interact with others they will be adhering to the recommended guidelines of frequent hand washing and sanitizing, as we all should be.
If you need to speak to a deputy they will contact you by telephone instead of arriving to see you in person, unless the situation warrants the deputy’s presence. In an emergency the Sheriff’s Office can be reached by dialing 911; all other calls should be placed to 970-920-5300.
Treasurer
The Treasurer / Public Trustee office is closed to public access but business will be conducted as usual by telephone - 970-930-5170, email, or website. Staff will be available by telephone and accepting all payments via a dropbox (formerly election voting box) located in front of the Administration building.
