Aspen, CO – At 5:25 PM, the Aspen Pitkin County airport reopened after a closure following an incident where a small private jet aircraft left the runway. The incident happened at 3:45 PM Sunday, June 26. Three passengers and two crew members were aboard the HondaJet – no one was injured and there was no visible damage to the aircraft. The jet was landing from the south and overran the runway to the north. The incident is under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
