Public Invited to Ask Questions and Learn More about Environment Assessment

Pitkin County Airport Director John Kinney wants to share a cup of coffee with anyone who would like to join him at a series of ‘Coffee Chats’ in the coming weeks. The coffee chats are designed to give the public a chance to meet informally with Kinney to learn about proposed airport improvements, including a new terminal and reconfigured runway, make comments, and ask questions. The chats are being held every Tuesday and Thursday mornings between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. through October 8th at Victoria’s, 510 E. Durant in Aspen. Chats will be held downvalley at the same time at Saxy’s in Basalt on October 13th and Bonfire in Carbondale on October 15th.

“I’m looking forward to meeting more people from this community, hearing how they feel about the airport and learning what their hopes and dreams are for the future of this county-owned and operated facility,” said Airport Director, John Kinney.

Pitkin County Commissioners recently rolled out a more efficient, cost-effective Environmental Assessment process that will focus solely on a new terminal and runway reconfiguration.
