ASPEN – Pitkin County Open Space and Trails will host a Jan. 14 open house in Basalt to kick off its management planning for Lazy Glen Open Space.
The public is welcome to stop by Basalt Town Hall between 5-7 p.m. and offer input on future use of the roughly 40-acre parcel located along the Roaring Fork River and Rio Grande Trail, upvalley from the Town of Basalt. It is located across the river from Lazy Glen subdivision. Open Space and Trails acquired the parcel last year. Agriculture, recreational uses and other potential management decisions are up for discussion.
A second open house, specifically for residents of Lazy Glen subdivision, will take place Jan. 18 from 5-7 p.m. at the Lazy Glen meeting room.
A draft management plan is scheduled for initial presentation to the Open Space and Trails Board on Feb. 18. Go to www.pitkinOSTprojects.com for more on the planning process.
